Mobius Institute will officially phase out the Independent Invigilation option for certification exams beginning 1 July 2025.
For many years, Independent Invigilation allowed students to nominate a trusted individual to supervise their certification exam. While this option provided flexibility, it also introduced increasing challenges to maintain consistency and security across exam sessions.
To uphold the integrity of the certification process and ensure a fair, standardized experience for all candidates, all exams will now be required to take place with a Mobius Institute Authorized Examination Center (AEC) beginning 1 July 2025.
Students who are scheduled or currently enrolled in a training course expecting to take their exam using the Independent Invigilation process may still do so on a case-by-case review with the Mobius Institute Board of Certification [MIBoC]. Any new exams scheduled on or after 1 July 2025 should be arranged through an AEC.
Authorized Examination Centers (AECs) are trusted partners who deliver in-person or online exams under MIBoC-approved supervision. In most cases, your training provider is also an approved AEC and can arrange the details for your certification examination. If your training provider is unable to support your certification, please contact our team directly for further information and options.
Mobius Institute is working closely with its global network of training partners to support a smooth transition and minimize disruption to students. Exam fees paid to Mobius Institute remain unchanged. However, individual AECs may charge an invigilation fee to support logistics, please check with your training provider to confirm whether this fee applies.
If you’re unsure how this change affects you or if you need help scheduling your exam, please contact your training provider or reach out to Mobius Institute at mobiussupport@mobiusinstitute.com.
