Description:

Modal Analysis is the study of the dynamics of a structure or machine when it is operating or being vibrationally excited from another source. Operating Deflection Shape (ODS) is the modeling and visualization of the structure as it moves in response to different running speeds or excitation vibration frequencies. These are powerful analysis methods help the vibration analyst determine corrective actions to take to resolve high vibration levels in critical machinery through damping, structural changes or operating speed adjustment. This interactive course includes case histories to help analysts understand the procedures for acquiring data and analyzing the results of various machine diagnoses. Teams of attendees will be provided with computers and software to practice their new skills during the class. Attendees should have a solid understanding of vibration fundamentals or certification equivalent to Category II or higher but the course is open to all. An examination and certificate of completion with 3 CEUs are included at the end of the course.
