Can we contact Mobius if we have questions?
Yes. You can always e-mail us with your questions, but better still, your learning zone has an askMobius forum where you can ask any questions at any time. One of our experienced staff will respond quickly.
Do you provide on-site training as well as e-learning?
Yes. We can provide a Quick Start course at your site, and we can arrange courses on any topic that we cover in iLearnReliability. We also offer Category I, II and III vibration analysis courses. But we recommend e-learning so that everyone can be trained at the same time (again and again).
How do we access the training?
We set up a special learning zone just for your plant (or corporation). You will access a Web-site named yourcompany.ilearnreliability.com. Users can be added by us or by you. They will visit the site, log-in, and access the training. They can be set up with access to all the lessons and courses, or they can use our pre-defined user accounts where they will access one or more courses designed specifically for a person in their position.
Which web browsers are supported by iLearnReliability's LMS?
iLearnReliability runs on Internet Explorer 9 and later, Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox. If you are unable to use one of these browsers on your computer, please contact us. Our support team may have work-arounds.
Does Mobius provide consulting services?
No. We have chosen to focus on training so that our only incentive is for you to be successful. However we are aware of consultants who subscribe to the iLearnReliability philosophy who would be available to work with you.
Is e-learning an effective way to learn precision skills?
Yes it is. Practice makes perfect, but learning the correct techniques in a consistent manner with modern training techniques ensure that the skills are learned, retained – and used. In addition, the training can be taken again (and again) at any time.
What happens if our staff are not motivated enough to take the lessons?
The reports in the learning zone will highlight whether people are not taking or completing (or understanding) the training material. It is essential that the leadership group make it very clear that everyone contributes to unreliability and therefore everyone must complete the training.
Does everyone have to take all of the lessons?
No. Specific lessons have been designed for people in specific positions. While anyone can take any lessons, we have created over 25 special user accounts designed for common industrial positions (or job functions) which guides the individual through the ideal set of lessons and courses.
What are your credentials in the reliability field?
The primary author of the e-learning content, Jason Tranter, has had 30 years’ experience in this field. Jason is a CMRP and CRL (and has an engineering degree). Jason has learned from his clients and from a broad range of expert industry specialists. We have also teamed with experts in the reliability and condition monitoring field to contribute their knowledge to iLearnReliability. The hallmark of Mobius training is the ability to make the strategy, technology and skills understandable, practical and memorable.
What are your credentials in the e-learning field?
Our first e-learning product, iLearnVibration, was developed in 1999. iLearnAlignment and iLearnBalancing have been developed since that time. Thousands of people from over 120 countries have learned valuable skills with these products. There is no other company in our industry with as much experience or expertise in e-learning.
How much new content will be added to the product each year?
We have very aggressive plans to constantly add new courses to iLearnReliability – and you get them all under your subscription fee. We will add training on precision skills, condition monitoring technologies, maintenance topics (stores management, planning, scheduling, etc.), reliability engineering, and more. But don’t get the wrong impression. iLearnReliability already covers a wide range of important topics. We are simply planning to go deeper in existing topics and add new modules.
Do we have to pay a fee for each person who accesses the lessons?
No. That is the beauty of iLearnReliability. We deliberately designed it that way so that there would be nothing stopping you from training everyone. You must train everyone.
Can we repeat the lessons?
Yes. You sure can. And we recommend that you repeat them often.
Can staff members access the lessons from their homes?
Yes. All they need is an Internet connection and they can access the lessons they are registered for at any time.
Can contractors access the lessons?
Yes. If you have a crew coming in to do some work at the plant, then we recommend that you put them through the appropriate training. However we ask that you close their account after they have completed their work at your site.
Can staff from other sites (sister-plants) access the lessons?
We ask every site to purchase their own license. However, if multiple satellite sites make up your organization, please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org. In most cases we will be able to accommodate your organization, provided that your subscription level is appropriate for your total number of users that need to access the iLearnReliability training system.
What topics do you cover?
We have an extensive list here. But we believe that iLearnReliability covers all of the essential topics required to improve reliability, implement a successful condition monitoring program, and understand the strategy.
Do you have lessons for senior management?
Yes. It is essential that senior management understand the benefits of improved reliability, but we do not expect them to go through the more detailed lessons and courses. So we have created brief, focused modules (called “Manager Briefings”) that speak their language.
Do you have lessons for the plant floor staff?
Yes. It is essential that mechanics and operators understand how they can benefit from improved reliability, and how they can contribute to the reliability-improvement effort. So we have created a series of “Toolbox Talks” that demystify the technology, explain the strategy, and gain their support.
Can we use iLearnReliability to teach our own team with one of our staff members?
Yes. Rather than have your staff listen to our narration, you can use the lessons as you would a Power Point presentation (note: it is not in Power Point). You take advantage of our script, graphics, simulators and animations, but you tell the story in your own words; relating the topic to the unique conditions and policies in your plant.
Can we use iLearnReliability at our plant to teach staff from other sites?
No. We ask that each plant buy their own license even if they will be traveling to your site for the training. If they are from a small satellite plant, please contact us. In most cases they will be allowed to take courses that you teach with iLearnReliability.
Can our condition monitoring technicians become certified after taking the courses?
At this time the answer is no. But if this is important to you please contact us. We will be adding modules that will enable your technicians to apply for certification.
Do the lessons and courses contain quizzes?
Yes they do. We see quizzes as an important part of the learning process; not just to test people, but for the participant to determine whether they have understood the topics and to correct any weaknesses.
Does the system keep track of who has been trained?
Yes. Reports list who has taken the training and when they took it. And it keeps track of quiz score results.
Can we try before we commit to a subscription?
Yes. We do have a free-trial subscription that enables you to try out the system for a limited time. Keep in mind, that our subscriptions are all based on economical, month-to-month plans, and you will have your own subscription dashboard where you are in full control and can cancel it at any time. No risk, no long term commitments. We are so confident that you will find iLearnReliability valuable, there is no need to tie anyone up in long term commitments... rather you will continue over time because you find it valuable to your organization!
Do you have many customers now?
iLearnReliability was released in October 2013. We have been very pleased with the response to our product and in early 2014 we already have customers in three countries – with many other companies ready to sign-on.
Is it available in languages other than English?
No, I am afraid it is only available in English. However you can use our lessons to deliver the training in person in your own language.
We come from a small plant - is there a less expensive way to purchase iLearnReliability?
Yes. We recognize that many plants may have a larger central plant and multiple satellite plants. We have made it affordable for this situation – satellite plants do not need to buy their own license. Contact email@example.com for more details.
What are the computer requirements?
You need a good Internet connection, a browser, a sound card with speakers, with Flash installed. We would recommend the use of a monitor with a minimum of 1024 x 768 resolution.
Can we install iLearnReliability on our own Learning Management System?
Yes – iLearnReliability is SCORM 1.2 compatible. Please contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org for details.
What will happen if we have a slow Internet connection at our plant?
This is a difficult problem to solve unless you have a learning management system that is installed on your local server. Please contact us at email@example.com for details.
Can I access the content with my Kindle, iPad or Android tablet device?
We use Flash in our interactive animations and simulations. Therefore the majority of the lessons cannot work on these devices that do not support Flash.
How can I be sure that your content is applicable to our unique industry?
In our experience the primary reasons why a plant experiences poor reliability are common across all plants and all industries. Issues related to culture change, precision skills, operator problems, stores management, purchasing policies and many other issues all contribute to poor reliability and therefore are common to all industries.
Do you use the animations and simulations that I have seen in your Webinars and conference presentations?
Yes. Have you enjoyed our Webinars and conference presentations and workshops? Have you felt that the animations and simulations made the topics more understandable and memorable (and even entertaining)? Well, iLearnReliability is full to the brim of animations and Flash simulations. You’ll love it!
